Spain!

Headin' out to Spain later today. Seriously can't be more excited! Not only will it be a great opportunity to ride in the mountains and enjoy some beautiful weather, but more importantly I'll be able to spend some time with Anne! It's been a few months since she was here and I can't WAIT to have her in my arms again!

I'm brining along my Epic HD Action Cam so I should have some great videos of the riding there. Looking forward to catching some great descents (and hopefully coming back with ALL my skin this time!) Fingers crossed for no crashes!!!!

See ya in couple weeks!

Insanity!!!

Nuts! That's just the way things have been. I'm suprised I can actually sit still to blog for 2 minutes, but that's just the way things are. With my trip to Spain coming up in just a few days, I'm bogged down with everything that comes with travel, along with the things that always seem to come up last minute to bite you in the ass.

Work has been stressing me out a TON, and bad timing seems to be the name of the game. Each time I take days off (which is almost never), I'm always afraid of what's going to happen because of it. I don't have a salary, so if I don't work, I don't make money. I'm lucky to have loyal clients and a good reputation, but if I'm not working, I'm always afraid they're going to disappear by the time I get back. It's not that I don't trust them to be there, it's just that they are all my bread and butter, and understandably I'm going to be stressed.

An incident at work recently, which I won't go into here, has me reconsidering how I do things. I've always run my own show, and made my own rules-one of the aspects of running your own business. However, I'm worried that I have to make more of a "standard" when it comes to my work. What I mean is that as I've become friends with the peolple I train, aspects of the relationship change. People start to feel comfortable (both myself as well as the client), and for good or bad, the workouts take on a certain "casual" tone that can lead to either great and relaxed workouts, or workouts that lack the crispness and decipline they once possessed. It's an ever evolving thing, but I need to do better job of making sure people are getting what they pay for.

At the end of the day, my first priorty is to keep my clients happy and coming into the gym. I'm not out to make millions (as if that was even a possibility!), just a living. Most importantly, I want to educate people on health and fitness, and show them that exercise can be fun. I don't care if I make a mint, all I want is for people to get the same joy and benefits from being fit that I do. I want them to realize that the goal isn't LOOKING GOOD, but FEELING GOOD and being healthy. Looking good in a bikini will take care of itself if you're doing the right things.

It's not about some new low carb diet, or crazy video, or pill, or infomercial machine; it's about moving and challenging your body every day and eating nutrient rich foods (regardless of wheter or not they have carbs!). It's simple really.

And that's all I have to say about that.
