Sometimes...

Sometimes when you can't get your mind in gear, and the weather outside is shit, it's best to go to the gym, beat the hell out of yourself, and get your life together in a world of iron-clinking pain.  Not that I'm a meathead or anything, but every once in a while, every male needs to satisfy the primal urge to move heavy objects around.  Damn monkey bodies...

  1. I hear you man. I tell people that I do the sledge hammer/ tire beatings as a "workout". But it's more therapy than anything.

  2. Amen to that. I love the sledge hammer/tire workouts too. My favorite is rounds on the heavy bag. Nothing burns the shoulders more than alternating 3 minute rounds of heavy bag with one minute of jumping rope to "rest" in between rounds. Probably my favorite winter workout-makes me feel like Rocky training to fight Ivan Drago.

  3. I have been wanting a heavy bag forever! When I was a kid my step dad made one out of an old army duffle and we also had a speed bag. My first sport was boxing, sort of. He taught me how to take a punch. And don't get me started on Rocky IV.

  4. Heavy bags are where it's at! I had an old canvas one my dad put up in the garage-I used to hit that thing until my knuckles bled! And I'm sure we could go back and fourth on Rocky IV all day!

  5. The Vince De Cola music from the soundtrack is fantastic. The famous training montage music. Quite impelling when you have in your headphones. I'm totally getting/ making a heavy bag now. Bloody knuckles... I love it!

  6. Agreed 100%. I couldn't agree more. Music like that takes the movie to a whole other level. Still would've been a good movie, but the music makes it. I love the mountain views as well. The shot where Rocky runs up the mountain and the camera spins around him at the top still gives me goosebumps. Like he's on top of the world! Awesome.

I saw this on youtube. I'm sure you already know how to make yours, but I thought this was a cool vid.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4gzW6_mXlhc

Looking forward to reading about heavy bag workouts!
